Opinion of Saiful Huda Ems: President Jokowi among the Three Great Powers, Opens the Veil of the Cabinet Reshuffle

PRESIDENT JOKOWI AMONG THE THREE GREAT POWERS

The Wednesday Pon Cabinet reshuffle is delayed, what’s going on? These are the questions that journalist friends have asked me since last Thursday morning until tonight.

And to answer this, I must first explain the current national political map, who has influence to make President Jokowi recalculate the major political policies he will take.

No one will be able to deny that Megawati Soekarnoputri (Bu Mega) is a prominent politician whose opinions have been heard by President Jokowi the most.

This is very logical, considering that Bu Mega leads the big party (PDIP) and was the first to carry Pak Jokowi as the 2014 and 2019 presidential candidates.

Therefore, hearing and paying attention to Mrs. Mega’s voice or opinion by Mr. Jokowi is a natural thing.

Apart from Mrs. Mega, there is also Mr. Prabowo Subianto. In addition to the General Chairperson of the major party, namely the Gerindra Party, Pak Prabowo is a rival to Pak Jokowi in the 2014 and 2019 Presidential Elections.

Even though currently Pak Prabowo is one of President Jokowi’s assistants with his position as Minister of Defense, Pak Prabowo’s influence among politicians and the public is enormous.

In addition, when Pak Prabowo led the Great Indonesia Awakening coalition (KIR), which consisted of the Gerindra Party and PKB, Pak Prabowo’s influence on President Jokowi made perfect sense.

For him, whatever Pak Prabowo’s opinion on Pak Jokowi will definitely be heard, even though it may not necessarily be followed.

The next big political force is Pak Airlangga Hartarto with the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB).
